COMING UP!!
PRAISE THE LORD things are getting busy and that means that more people will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While less missionaries go to the field, more come home, and churches are decreasing their missions budgets, people are still lost and dying. The need to reach them still exists. This is the role that God has given KaraTek International. We help the missionary reach into more homes, hearts and souls through radio. In third world countries over 90% of people listen to radio. Where there is Christian radio great results are seen. Will you be a part of the solution to help reach those that have never heard?
FALLING DOWN
Nearly 4 years ago Paul and Thom Williams traveled with Gene Sharp of Independent Baptist Media to the island of Samar in the Philippines to install a radio station for Missionary Layne Jones. Since that time we have shared a number of stories with you of how God has used the radio station in a great way to bring many to Himself.
When the station was first installed the tower that was installed by a local business was a hollow leg tower. Many stations use these towers, because of the ease of construction and light weight, but in a setting that is near saltwater it is not a good idea. The towers tend to rust from the inside out continue...

Special Radio Tower Project Letter
The Jones' Journal
We now have a 150 foot radio tower that Bro. Paul Williams has found for us in America. The cost of the tower is $12,648 complete. The shipping to the Philippines and all the other expenses including the transmitter room at the camp, and guy wire foundations poured would be about $20,000.
As a result of the radio station, I have gotten an open door into the University of Eastern Philippines College of Science. I have spoken in 12 classes there with hundreds saved. The professor, Mrs. Lisa Heriales, had been listening to the radio station and told us the preaching had given her a burden to win her students to Christ. Her husband is the Dean of the College of Science. He wrote me out a permission slip to give out gospel in any class for 10 minutes. Pray for Dr. Heriales and his wife that we can get them into our church. About two months ago, I was asked to speak at the College of Sceince Days at the university. There were 169 students, 16 professors and one Catholic priest(Father Cerbito). I spoke about 50 minutes and all including the Catholic priest stood to pray the sinners prayer.
There was another Catholic priest listening to our radio broadcast in one of the areas where one of our girls have extension classes for children. She asked him why he was listening to our radio station. He said because it is a Christian radio station.
Recently, while out soul winning in a village outside of town where we have members, I witnessed to a young man who had his cell phone on the front porch. He said I know you and turn on his cell phone to 104.5FM. He said he listens all the time when he comes home from work. It was easy to win he and his wife to Christ.
About two years ago, 59 Seventh Day Adventists came from an island off the coast of Samar. They had been listening to the radio broadcast. We had a special service for them and 39 accepted Christ.
There is a pastor whose two children are in our Bible college. He lives about 70 kilometers away. He has an antenna on top of his house and is listening to the station.
There are many Christians on the Island of Luzon right across the bay form the camp where the tower will be. We can reach Southern Luzon, Masbate, Leyte and most of Samar with the new tower at the camp. We are talking about millions more. These islands are heavily populated. With a 150 foot tower beside the ocean, the signal will really fly.
About one year ago, we had a man to call the radio station. He is from our place here but moved to Manila. He has an antenna on top of his house in Manila and heard our radio station and called.
We are so thankful to Bro. Paul Williams(KaraTek International), Gene Sharp (Independent Baptist Media) and George Zarris (Christian Radio International) in their help in reaching the lost here in the Philippines.
Everywhere we go soul winning within a 50 km radius of our church building the people say they are listening to the broadcast.
