AUTOMATION

What keeps a radio station on 24 hours a day? Automation software performs this task and is the heartbeat of the programming on most stations. The automation program has a list of songs, porgrams, commercials, station identifications and other items that you hear on a station. The software has a schedule that chooses songs and inserts programs and commercials or other information at a scheduled time. Operators update new program files to be played. This is a simple explanation of how this software works. Martin Gibbs is writing Automation software that will be used around the world for station installed by KaraTek.

FALLING DOWN

Nearly 4 years ago Paul and Thom Williams traveled with Gene Sharp of Independent Baptist Media to the island of Samar in the Philippines to install a radio station for Missionary Layne Jones. Since that time we have shared a number of stories with you of how God has used the radio station in a great way to bring many to Himself.
When the station was first installed the tower that was installed by a local business was a hollow leg tower. Many stations use these towers, because of the ease of construction and light weight, but in a setting that is near saltwater it is not a good idea. The towers tend to rust from the inside out continue...

THE 10 / 40 WINDOW

What is the 10/40 Window

In the past 2000 years, only roughly 1/3 of the world's 7 billion people have been reached with the Gospel. Of those who are left, most live in a part of the world spanning from West Africa to East Asia, 10° to 40° North latitude. If a rectangle was drawn around this area there would be a window where over 4.1 billion people and 62 nations live. These peoples are under the influence of Communism, Islam, Hindu, Buddhist, and Tribal religions. Most of the world's poorest people live here, and who will tell them? Less thana 5% of the world's missionaries are sent to countries within the window, and less than one penny out of every dollar we give goes to work within the Window. While terror reigns in many countries around the world and many sacrifice themselves for a lie, so ought God's people to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the Gospel. II Corinthians 8:9 states, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." Being involved means more than just prayer. Involvement means commitment in praying, giving, and going.

Radio In The Window

In most 3rd world countries most people receive their news, sports, and information via radio. In Africa over 96% of people listen to radio. They are not inundated with television, internet, or other electronic media. The radio is their lifeline of information. Millions are reached daily with radio yet even if 1 million different people heard the gospel every day it would still take over 11.5 years for each one to hear.

The goal of KaraTek International is to assist missionaries and pastors in and around the 10/40 window and all around the world to reach their people groups and communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through affordable radio stations and technology.

A Low Power Radio Station can be installed in a foreign country for as little as $10,000. This could reach a small town or community 24 hours a day 7 days a week. If you are interested in helping to start a station in one of these areas please contact us by clicking here.
